I used to know this movie, the name is "Public Enemy of the Nation". The version I watched today is translated as "Public Enemy of the Nation", which feels much more appropriate. The original meaning of "state" is the state. I believe that Americans will not regard "state" as "the whole nation" "Yes, the state is the state, the government is the government, the people are the people, and the state cannot represent the people.
Americans' distrust of the government is vividly shown in the film. The government is the villain and the citizens are the heroes. I don't know whether the technology and power that the government can master is really so powerful. It can track individual's every move at any time through conventional means such as satellite and telephone, and easily make a person lose his job, family, and wealth. I think, this It is also what Americans are worried about, so they like this kind of film. Anyway, speech is free. They use films that fall within the scope of speech to attack the government and remind the public to always be on guard against the government’s terrifying machine, especially the FBI.
Will Smith fascinates people, strong, tender, intelligent, rough, simple and honest, making people feel the perfection of a man, which is his brand.
