Courage in the sea

"The Perfect Storm" is a quintessentially American thriller and disaster, and it has all the elements of a film of its kind. Such as fixed disaster scenes; each character's own background; of course, the grand and spectacular special effects. Although a bit cliché, it's still a classic of its kind, and I think there are a few reasons why.

First of all, the description of the characters in the film is very meticulous. Whether it is the protagonist or the supporting role, the audience is given a certain explanation. For example, Bobby, who just divorced his wife, needs to pay legal fees to the lawyer who helped him in the lawsuit. At the same time, he also Murphy, who needs money to build a new life with a new girlfriend; Murphy, who needs money to support his increasingly estranged wife and daughter; Bagos, who wants to earn money for a wife; Ordinary people with relatively low social status bear heavier family and economic burdens, and because of this, they resolutely chose to move forward in the face of the storm, which laid the groundwork for the second half of the film, which played a very good role. The role of sensational and exaggerating the atmosphere.

In addition, the film focuses on their solidarity and courageous collaborative spirit in their fight against the storm. From the unpleasant spat between Murphy and his teammates before the storm to the later release of the two, it reflects the changes in the entire team. At the end of the film, we don't hear anyone. Complaints, as Bobby said: "At least we all tried." For this, they deserve to be respected by people.

As for the Captain Billy played by George Clooney, it is a highlight of the film. This man whose home is the sea, his courage, wisdom and leadership always infect his fellow crew members. He likes his song about the sea very much. Poetry describes the ocean so beautifully and so tenderly. However, the born leader was destined to belong to the sea, to paraphrase The Legend of Autumn: "He died well."

Disaster movies are also my favorites, and they can basically be regarded as the same as monster movies. It's also a good movie to watch. In 2004, I saw a lot of good films.

Maybe I'm used to the happy ending, I feel worried and chest tight when I see the ending, I feel depressed all night, the little pig shouted in the middle of the night, the plane crashed, I asked confused, what plane, he said, I was on the plane, speechless~ Disaster movie This is the result after seeing more~

The Perfect Storm quotes

  • Linda Greenlaw: [at the services for the crew of the Andrea Gail] I knew Billy Tyne, but I did not know his crew very well, but any man who sailed with him, must have been the better for it. Robert Shatford, Dale Murphy, Micheal Moran, David Sullivan, Alfred Pierre... May you rest easy long-liners, in fair winds, and calm seas... For those of us left behind, the vast unmarked grave which is home for those lost at sea is no consolation. It can't be visited, there is no headstone on which to rest a bunch of flowers... The only place we can revisit them, is in our hearts, or in our dreams. They say swordboatmen suffer from a lack of dreams, that's what begets their courage... Well we'll dream for you: Billy, and Bobby, and Murph, Bugsy, Sully, and Alfred Pierre... Sleep well... Good Night...

  • Linda Greenlaw: [in the bridge of the Andrea Gail] I saw your guys loading bait. You doing a turnaround?

Captain Billy Tyne: No rest for the weary.

Linda Greenlaw: There you go. Flaunting your work ethic.

Captain Billy Tyne: I don't have a work ethic. I just have work... If I'm going to catch up to you.
