4 short and concise stories, forming a complete theme - fear. Fear comes from everywhere, fear is everywhere. The collection of horror stories has also appeared before, such as the "Three Watches" series, such as the "Dark Night" series, the highlight of "4 Bia" is not the horror of the plot, the blood of the picture or the horror of the ending. Instead, it has made a certain degree of innovation to the traditional old-fashioned ghost films.
When it comes to traditional ghost movies, I think the following images will immediately pop up in everyone's mind: female, in white (Hong Kong is in red), long hair, hideous face, hobby is crawling on the ground... Thailand's most famous ghost The film "Ghost Shadow" is an organic combination of the above elements. Although "Conjoined Yin" in 2007 has an ending that has nothing to do with ghosts, the ghosts in the film are still ferocious women in white clothes fluttering. This situation changed in "Corpse No. 19/Ghost Dismemberment". Although the ghost is still a female figure, there is no sign of Bai Yi at all.
And at this year's "4 Bia/Death Crossroads", the ghosts have already stepped out of the "feminine" framework. Only one of the ghosts in the four short stories is a woman, and two of the remaining male ghosts are very handsome. The kind (but still scary...). And that female ghost with long hair is still ferocious, but she no longer likes to crawl around in white clothes. Her new hobby is twisting her body, coughing and vomiting - back to the European and American classics of the 1970s The ghost image in the ghost movie "The Exorcist".
In addition to the breakthrough in the image of ghosts, this film also made some interesting explorations in shooting techniques. The first story "เหงา Lonely" begins with the heroine (forgot her name) who was in a car accident standing in a plaster cast and looking down from the balcony. The downstairs happens to be a busy intersection, which reflects the title of the film. "Death Crossroads", to be honest, I was a little disappointed at the beginning, because the plot really unfolded smoothly: a woman with limited mobility uses her mobile phone to exchange ambiguous text messages with a strange man when she is bored, and the scene is in the girl's room It changed from time to time, in the living room or in the toilet. In short, within 10 minutes of the opening, this girl sent and received text messages, and the phone vibrated repeatedly... Until she found out that the person who texted her was actually a dead person, the plot changed. Be wonderful. In the latter part of the story, text messages from the spiritual world were sent one after another, and the phone vibrated again and again without warning. Only then did I realize that the first 10 minutes were actually rendering the sound of the phone vibrating. This voice is the heroine. The urging sound leading to death... After the whole story ended, I suddenly felt that something was wrong, and only then did I realize that the heroine did not even have a single line except for the crying and screaming. What remained in my mind was all that An aggressive phone vibrate (it's time for my phone to turn off vibrate mode).
The second story "ยันต์สั่งตาย" is actually very old-fashioned. It tells the story of a group of bad students bullying an ugly and cowardly student, and then the bullied student kills his bullies one by one through head-dropping. . The shaky footage and the unique image movement and zooming are the biggest features of this story. You will find that the original ghost movie can also be shot as bright and vibrant as a sci-fi movie, an action movie or the MV of some pop groups, and the explosion. The bloody scenes such as the head and neck inserted into the steel pipe are also the continuation of "corpse No. 19/ghost dismemberment". But the story is really old-fashioned, so it didn't scare me, but the scene at the end gave me a boost, and it was clear that the director wanted to pay homage to Silent Hill.
The third story "คนกลาง The Middleman" If I were to rate this story, I think I would give her full marks without hesitation. Bravo! so horrible! But so funny! Comedy and ghost films are two types of films that are not related to each other. The director has combined them extremely skillfully. I don’t think I grew up (perhaps a lot of people) without laughing and getting scared. The bizarre experience of half-death, not to mention that this "funny horror movie" also has a stunning ending. Can I not give full marks to me, who is the most important of the plot? But if I have to be picky, I can only say that the performance of the actors is only reluctant, or girls are more suitable for being scared by ghosts (haha)...
The last story "เที่ยวบิน 224 224 flight" is a difficult one The story of the evaluation, first of all, the development of the story is far-fetched. A princess of a certain country died suddenly while on vacation in Phuket, Thailand, so Golden Star Airlines was ordered to escort the body back to China by a special plane, and the heroine of this film is the only flight attendant on this flight. (Or in transit) the beautiful flight attendant gradually discovered that the princess's body did not seem to have died, and began to haunt the airport... It is far-fetched to say that the plot is far-fetched because of deliberately arranging the corpse and the flight attendant to be alone in a confined space In the middle, other interference factors were deliberately excluded. For example, why didn't the princess return to the country with the corpse with her subordinates? The flight attendant didn't even notify the captain when the body began to disappear. But overall the story is still wonderful. พลอย PLOY who played the stewardess performed well. She played "June" in "Love of SIAM" before, and we have already seen her good acting skills. This time, the stewardess held an axe in the cabin. The run can be said to be a classic shot (a tribute to "The Shining"?).
A successful ghost film must have a classic scene that can be "inserted" into people's memory: Sadako crawled out of the TV in "Midnight Bell/Seven Nights Strange Talk"; squatted at the bottom of the table and stared at it in "The Grudge" The little ghost Junxiong who is watching you; the female ghost riding on the neck of the male protagonist in "Ghost Shadow"... I think these pictures have been imprinted in the audience's minds for a long or short time. I have to admit here that this film has such a classic lens! Maybe you are not "scared" of this shot, but she can definitely make you "remember"!
One-sentence evaluation: Ghost films are difficult to innovate, but this film has taken a successful step.
