What kind of life is called happiness?

What kind of life do you think is a happy life?

In my opinion, the simple, the ordinary, the ordinary is happiness;

I think that when a family is together, someone reads the newspaper, someone cleans the yard, and someone plays on the grass, that is happiness;

I think that surviving the war years, loving each other, and cuddling each other, is happiness.

The film "London Family" describes a peaceful, ordinary and happy life for us.

Just like the hero and heroine in the movie, every encounter is arranged by God.

The same is true for Ernest and Ethel. Every morning, Ethel standing by the window always sees Ernest riding a bicycle passing by, his gentleman's manner, bright smile, in Ethiopia. Er's heart left a deep impression.

Every date is destined to start with flowers

When you always look forward to seeing him again, you miss the opportunity. Ethel felt a little lost and missed, that cyclist.

It's good to be young, it's good to be young. Ernest couldn't bear to see the lovely girl, so he took the liberty to pursue her.

The British gentleman's outfit, politely taking off his hat, and a prepared bouquet of flowers are the bells that ring the door of love. The kind, innocent Ethel was so surprised and so favored that he was at a loss for a moment. The deer's rambling mood is the expression of love, and he smoothly agrees to Ernest to go to the movies.

All good love starts from this, good people are together.

Ernest is hardworking. Work hard every day, deliver milk, and enjoy the joy of work. When I got home, I was very happy to see the girl I loved becoming my wife. People who love each other together are destined to be a happy thing.

Ernest, is romantic. To give her a warm home, although the furniture in the home was poor at the beginning, it gave her everything little by little. The newly built sink, the newly bought bed and the sofa gradually made the home warm and happy.

Isn't that what life is like? What's happier than running a home bit by bit with your own hands?

Ethel is a good wife. For everything her husband gave, she never complained and knew how to be content. I think she identified this man when she quit her job to get married. She loves him, loves everything about him. As it turns out, her choice was right.

An ordinary life will also be very comfortable. Every small act of her husband will make her very happy and happy.

Love always has results, after having children, life is different. When son Raymond was born, the family focused more on the children. However, the tacit understanding and love between husband and wife have not decreased, but more of them have been transformed into the bits and pieces of daily life.

Caring about a child's growth is like witnessing a happy growth. Just like the seed of a pear tree, sunlight, soil, fertilizer, give it time, and it will thrive. Raymond also grew up little by little. In that era of war, it was a blessing and a blessing to survive.

What kind of happy life do you expect?

In fact, in the end, it is flat, flat does not mean unhappy.

You care about your child's growth, your child's learning, your child's marriage, and more about yourself and your lover. This is normal.

In fact, in the end, it is the wife and husband, or even the last person.

Children will have their own lives, their own sky and freedom.

People's lives have different beginnings and the same end. The difference is how you live your life happily and happily in a limited amount of time, so that you have no regrets.

simple is the best

The Ernest family is very plain, simple life, plain life. There are no ups and downs, no highlights, but this is just a simple but precious happiness.

Reminds me of a poem by Haizi:

Be a happy man from tomorrow on
Feed horses, chop wood, travel the world
Caring about food and vegetables from tomorrow
I have a house, facing the sea, with spring flowers blooming

When everything returns to peace and tranquility, looking at the peaceful yard, the young seed has grown into a beautiful and lush pear tree.

How peaceful everything is, how beautiful everything is.

Happiness is nothing but that.

Ethel & Ernest quotes

  • Ethel Briggs: I could have married a deep-sea diver.

Ernest Briggs: Well, why didn't ya?

Ethel Briggs: Because I didn't love him.

  • [first lines]

Raymond Briggs: [voice over] There was nothing extraordinary about my Mum and Dad, nothing dramatic, no divorce or anything, but they were my parents and I wanted to remember them by doing a picture book. It's a bit odd really, having a book about my parents up there in the best seller list among all the football heroes and cookbooks. They'd be proud of that, I suppose, or rather probably embarrassed too. I'd imagine they'd say, "It wasn't like that," or, "How can you talk about that?" Well, I have, and this is their story.
