Let's divide the successful people under social rules into three categories: those with great wealth, those who made history, and those with great wealth and history. The first of these three types may not require time to accumulate, and there are not a few people who get rich nowadays, but the latter two can stand the test of time, while the third requires not only the test of time but also God’s blessing.
Buffett is undoubtedly the third. Perhaps the 90-minute documentary is not enough to summarize all the factors that make Buffett, but some key points are still worth pondering.
Just like other third types of people, Buffett is lonely. This loneliness lies in his ability to think and judge beyond ordinary people. In the growth of a group society, he insists on himself and is not mediocre. Buffett is focused, he can calm down and think about problems. When most people on Wall Street are eager to move, he can be unmoved, and he can calm down to think about the essence of the problem and tap the real value. Buffett loves his job. He can dance to work. To him, making money is just a result of playing in a game, not a goal. To him, work is a life pursuit, not just a goal. Survival skills. Buffett is simple, even if his hair is gray, you still feel his childlike simplicity, he is just a kid who focuses on making money games. He has a good reputation because this innocence makes him respect the rules of the game. Buffett is well-read, and most of the books he reads can be seen, but his reading is gold rush reading. Reading itself does not mean anything in return, thinking is the real worthwhile thing.
But most importantly, I think Buffett is lucky enough that his wife Suzy is the greatest wealth in his life. As he said, the problem of analyzing investment numbers is always traceable, but the problem of people is the most difficult to solve. As human beings, no one wants to be just a cold money-making machine. Emotions are immeasurable but their value can be higher than tangible property. Susie did not deify Buffett like others, nor did she give up her ideas and ideals because of her husband's huge wealth. She is a very intelligent and energetic woman, and her energy has been infecting Buffett's real growth and rise.
Under the influence of Susie, Buffett began to participate in or support some civil rights movements and support women's equal rights. He believes that women are the slaves of the world, and most women don't realize this, and that talent that is wasted is the world's loss. He realized that the reason why he was able to exert his talents was not only because of the times but also because of the privilege of men, and he did not need to face all the obstacles of women on his way up. This kind of empathy is invaluable.
Buffett and Susie have had their differences over philanthropy, and even separated because of it. But after Susie died, he donated most of his fortune to charity. This human transformation is the constant influence of his wife on him.
Perhaps these qualities are simple to say, but when combined together, it is indeed difficult for most people to reach them in their lifetimes.
But rather than understanding the symbol of "stock god", it is interesting to know more real people through documentaries.
We don't have to be Buffett, we can be Buffett too.
