Garth Van Sant's Psychedelic Park, an indie film focused on reality. The eternal theme of cruel youth is patted softly.
The protagonist is a blond and thin-lipped young man named Alex, who is so clean and quiet that he is a little blurred. The family is not happy, and there are always some troubles in my heart, haunting a certain corner of the campus
, quietly practicing skateboarding. Everything is as light as the wind in June morning. If life went on as normal, the melancholy teenager might mature into a blurry normal person, or be lucky enough to be the super rock star of Avril Lavigne's songs.
However, this young man inadvertently came to the "that" psychedelic park at "that" time, and inadvertently lent the skateboard, followed the "that" person, and climbed on the "that" train. Then tragedy happened. A security guard was accidentally killed in such a brutal and bloody way.
Naturally, you will feel helpless. He showered until the sound of the water drowned out everything in the world. He turned to his father for help, but the phone didn't work. He fell into a deep sleep, hoping it was all just a nightmare.
Life seems to go on like water without any surprises. The trivial things at home, the teenagers who skated together, the beautiful punk girlfriend, the precocious girl who appeared inexplicably, all the people and things appeared and disappeared in his world, which was smooth and sad.
The movie doesn't have an ending, and it doesn't seem to matter what kind of outcome the teenager faces in the end. This is just a sketch of a teenager's life.
A film as smooth and fresh as a poem is really rare in the noisy Hollywood. It is the consistent style of the director from "The Elephant" to "First Love".
A movie with pretty boys and good music is always a delight. This reminds me of two other movies I watched recently, "August Love" and "Love in Siam". The former is the song and dance + New York version of "Harry Potter", although the little boy in it is absolutely cute and already an absolute big name. (Little actor Freddie Highmore, he is Charlie in "Charlie and His Chocolate Factory", and Assai in "Aser and His Mini Kingdom".) Although the latter is fresh enough to be eye-catching enough to earn money Human tears, but it always made me feel a little awkward due to the origin issues (Thai movies) and the gay theme.
However, when he found out that Garth Van Sant was GAY, anger and small nausea rushed out uncontrollably. It feels the same as when I learned that Grandpa Maugham was a pedophile. Whether it's the
blonde skateboarder Alex or the idealistic young Larry, they are all YY objects created by gay middle-aged uncles. These narcissistic teenagers like daffodils have deeply affected my taste in men for a long time, and until now I know that I have been fooled and I can't help myself.
Those rock and roll youths, literary youths, and film youths have always been happy only in the lyrics of novels and movies.
But everyone has a skateboarder in their hearts.
