Who cares about Emily?

If you have not stepped into the palace of marriage, it is more important to say that love does not come first.

For example, in the Japanese drama "Someone You Like", the eldest brother Shibasaki Chiaki was the first boy to enter the heart of the heroine Misaki Sakurai, but for various reasons, the heroine finally chose the younger brother Shibasaki Natsuya who loved her more firmly.

In Zombie Bride, since Victor has already agreed to the zombie bride Emily to be her husband, she shouldn't be hesitant between her and the previously engaged Victoria. It seems to me that Victor already had a crush on Emily when he agreed to officially marry her, except that he had to drink that poisonous drink to marry her. Between living to marry Victoria and dying to marry Emily, the cowardly Victor naturally prefers the former.

However, when Victor and Victoria can finally be together, how many people will care about the mood of the supporting role of this love, Emily? She was deceived and killed by the people she loved when she was alive. After waiting for so many years after her death, she finally came to Victor, who really wanted to marry her. Just when she thought her happiness had finally come, Victoria happened to appear at the wedding scene again. Emily was too kind to fight for herself, and finally chose to fulfill Victor and his former lover Victoria.

Emily is already so pitiful, why did the director and screenwriter let her completely lose her human form in the underworld at the end of the film? She could have continued to wait for her next love in the underworld where she was familiar and had many friends. The scene of turning into a butterfly is indeed beautiful to outsiders, but this step completely deprives Emily of the opportunity to continue to find love in the underworld. This scene is really cruel.

I still remember that the little mermaid in the favorite bedtime story "The Daughter of the Sea" when I was a child turned into a bubble in order to protect her lover. To this day, I still feel that the ending is too cold. The cute, pure and kind little mermaid should have a more fairytale-like outcome, even if her sweetheart did not choose her. Unexpectedly, many years later, Emily, who has the same characteristics in "Zombie Bride", was also arranged to have a similar disappearance ending.

If there are more and more storylines like this, can people finally believe that the world will be good in the future? Even if he is not the protagonist of the story, a supporting character with good character deserves a kinder ending. All kinds of things in the real world are already very cruel, why add so many heart-wrenching bridges to the film and television works that people use to escape reality?

*On Halloween, I finally made up my mind to watch the well-known "Zombie Bride", but even after watching the reunion of the hero and heroine, my heart was still involuntarily fettered by Emily's tragedy. I don't know if the director thinks this ending is a happy ending.
