In 2021, I went to see this film from nearly 5 years ago. As a Chinese, I feel that Koreans are very restrained and more objective and realistic, which is very rare. The rhythm of the whole film is tight, thrilling, and has no urine spots. There is nothing to say about the war itself. The purpose of the war is to make people have a better life. It is already obvious who brings a better life to the people. The protagonists of the war all have flesh and blood and have their own lives. They have parents, wives and children. The moment I saw them secretly visit their mother and children, my heart twitched, and I suddenly hit the softest part of people.
MacArthur's image is also very good. Some people say how MacArthur suddenly became a master of chicken soup. Everyone is speculating about MacArthur for utilitarian purposes. In fact, old fried dough sticks often have an idealistic side. Many things seem complicated to others. Sometimes It's surprisingly simple. Without so much calculation, the old man was moved by the strong 16-year-old soldier. I was moved by the national spirit and national perseverance of a country.
