Chinatown

I was preconceived by the praises on the Internet before I watched it, which caused me not to understand why so many people praised it after reading it. The script of this movie is a must-study script for the film school. The whole movie is in a dark and cold tone, and the connection bureau is also so dark to death. I admit that it has exposed the darkness of society to a certain extent, and many repetitions and foreshadowings make people clapped and surprised.

However, the rhythm of the beginning of the movie is too slow, which makes people drowsy, which leads to the lack of cohesion with the rest. Although the director did not live up to his fame in the last ten minutes, he persuaded him to leave at the beginning.

And if you analyze this story that was blown to the top by McGee alone, you will find that it is just a wonderful detective story. This kind of story is everywhere in the Complete Detective Sherlock Holmes. It caused me to see a lot of hints and foreshadowings when I watched it. Finally, I have to say something that I didn't think of. It should be the miserable experience of the heroine and the final outcome.

I think what should really be praised is the director’s lens language (but I think it’s lost to "The Godfather" for granted), smooth fighting scenes, and the movement of the whole lens is not advanced, but it gives people a comfortable feeling. Many peeping shots made me feel the horror of Hitchcock. This film also uses a lot of close-up shots to create the atmosphere, especially to the end of the back, the whole process is high-powered, and even let me see one or two wonderful transitions.

To sum up, "Chinatown" is indeed good, and its theme and audiovisual language are both desirable. But I warn you not to watch the story with too high expectations. The wonderful story nearly 100 years ago is still nothing.
