Chinatown

When I watched this movie, I really thought it was a horror, suspense and reasoning movie. When I was fascinated by it and followed the script to guess who the murderer was, a whistle and scream broke my mind.

"This is Chinatown."

Yes, this is Chinatown, a Chinatown shrouded in darkness, a Chinatown that the police cannot manage.

What shocked me the most about this film was its ending. It was not that the good guys won, but the bad guys won.

"Don't worry, it's for your own good."

Jack used to be a policeman, although he didn't explain why he left Chinatown and became a detective specializing in peachy incidents. It is not difficult to guess after watching the movie.

Righteously, he was framed and investigated Murray. After Murray's death, he insisted on finding out the truth, even if everything was so confusing, even if he was threatened, beaten, or had his nose cut. When Jack finally found the glasses in the backyard of Mrs. Morey's house, he thought he connected the truth and that the murderer was Mrs. Morey, but this was also the beginning of bad luck. Mrs. Morey finally told the truth and told her embarrassing past, which also made Morey moved with compassion, let go of Mrs. Morey, but she was arrested.

In the dark Chinatown, the police supported the murderer, and the murderer shot and killed his daughter and took away his granddaughter. No, it should be said that it was another daughter. Jack looked at all this, the corpse of the beloved woman, and the crowd watching the lively people, had been counseled by his colleagues.

"This is Chinatown."

Perhaps it is not just this Chinatown that is dark, but this world.

If you have money, you can do whatever you want. In their eyes, the lives of citizens are not the same thing, and the lives of farmers are not the same thing. They are not for money, but for their so-called "future." How absurd and ridiculous.

What the movie talks about is not reasoning and suspense for a long time, but exposing the ugliness of society and exposing human nature.

What if you insist on the truth? If someone who is indifferent and selfish stands above power, you can only become his pawn and cannot escape this dark prison.

Jack wanted to protect Mrs. Murray, but in the end he could only watch her die in front of him, but he couldn't do anything.

In addition to the deep meaning of the film, the details in the film are also particularly powerful. The opening case corresponds to the ending film. Various details echo back and forth. The gardener’s "glass" and salt water, the housekeeper’s indifference and ridicule, I have to say, the film’s The script is really awesome.

"Bad for glass"

Maybe it's because I haven't seen it thoroughly, just like this line, what we see is the surface, and there are deeper meanings waiting for us to dig.

Is the world we live in the same as Chinatown? Perhaps this world is darker and crueler than Chinatown.

I just hope that we can no longer compromise for Chinatown and still stick to our truth and justice.
