Internal Scorecard

Many reviews say that Buffett's success lies in 1) talent, interest in numbers, and acumen; 2) studious, deep and extensive reading; 3) focus, only doing what interests him, a few Ten years as one day.

So why is he able to do this?

Because he uses an internal scorecard, not an external evaluation.

He doesn't care what other people think of him, so he's neither enthusiastic about going to parties nor forcing himself to do so. For the shortcomings of being incommunicable and not understanding art, he allowed himself to change slowly over time, but he did not force it. This allows him to save a lot of time and energy to do what he likes to do.

Maybe everyone is born with their own talents, but when we grow up, we find that there are more aspects to "take care of".

Men have social pressures and women have marriage and childbirth pressures.

The results that want to perform well in all aspects are often mediocre in all aspects.

In order to have a topic with others, watch the latest TV series and movies, and learn about entertainment gossip.

In order to appear to have a sense of current affairs and politics, I read all kinds of information, and I am more and more anxious in the era of information explosion.

It's important not to care about the opinions of others.

But having said that, most people may be balanced development type, rather than partial subject type. So it is necessary to do a good job of interpersonal relationships properly, after all, you do not have a particularly outstanding skill.

Becoming Warren Buffett quotes

  • Howard Buffett: When he wrote the letter to us, he put something in that letter that was incredibly important to me, which was exactly how our foundation behaves, which is, if you're gonna try to bat a thousand, you won't do very many things that are important. But if you're willing to basically strike out a few times, you can really change something big.

  • Warren Buffett: In my entire lifetime, everything that I've spent will be quite a bit less than one percent of everything I've made. The other 99% plus will go to others, because it has no utility to me.
