Floating Homes, Battlefields, Execution Grounds and Final Coffins

When the water pressure of the deep sea squeezed the hull of the submarine, the sound of the motor of the British destroyer was gradually approaching overhead, like the sound of drums from hell, tormenting a group of sailors of the Third Reich. Their cowardice, fear and neuroticism in the face of death are presented to the audience without reservation. The audience also felt that they were holding their breath 200 meters deep in the ocean and endured the torment. The U-boat is no longer the evil "Atlantic Butcher", but a steel cage for a group of young people who are as vulnerable and helpless as us. The submarine with the smell of oil, sea and sweat is the floating home, battlefield, execution ground and final coffin of this group of sailors.

The mise-en-scène and actors in the opening bar scene were outstanding. & Ok! Feel sorry! The 209-minute-long movie was not watched on the big screen in the cinema, and I really had no patience to watch it for the time being. & Wolfgang Petersen becomes the first person to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director for a German-language film.

2nd Lieutenant: 13 boats down last moth. Sank with men and mice. Exciting, huh?
