after waking up

At the end of the movie, Nathan was raped and killed by a male classmate in the closet. Roy imagined that Nathan was back, and he loved himself as quietly as before.

A boy who just transferred to school, his growth experience? The "self-taught" posture during sex? What kind of man would he be if he hadn't been killed? Everything has no beginning and no end, like a teenager's dream, vague and messy.

After waking up, the fantasy gives an end to the abruptly stopped dream. For example, Nathan didn't die, they continued to fall in love, Roy broke up peacefully with his ex-girlfriend, went swimming and camping alone... However, there was not much material for Roy to fantasize about. They have known each other for less than half a year, and they feel more guilt than sweetness.

Except for Nathan's sweet joy and no shyness in the main line of bending Roy. The film also wraps two sub-lines of repressed tragedy, the father's sexual assault and morbid possessiveness towards Nathan since childhood. The Deep Cabinet Man's test of Nathan's masculinity and destruction after he finally got the handle. The three lines together, with a fresh and youthful life, cut through the contemptible darkness in the various attitudes of comrades.

A very perfect movie. If you comment on the top 100 classic movies in the future, there will be a place for "Dream Boy"!

Roy - outgoing sunshine, short-sighted, very strong boyfriend, careful, straight but only likes Nathan, warm. He fell in love with the scarred Nathan, who could have healed Nathan and brought him back on track with his life, alas... waking up
