Immersive thriller

This is the first horror movie I've seen done this way. The film shows a sudden and terrifying event that takes place in an apartment from the cameraman's first point of view. The beginning is a bit like a tidbit of the show. There are pictures of reporters chatting with photographers and chatting with firefighters, just like unedited program material, creating a pseudo-documentary feel.

The audience can only be involved in this incident from the perspective of the photographer. The first half of the film is through the reporter's conversation with the photographer. The reporter's interview with the people in the apartment gradually gave the audience a simple understanding of the whole incident. know.

The climax is concentrated in the second half of the movie. The apartment is suddenly blocked. Not only the residents of the apartment, but also the reporters who followed the firefighters and others are strictly prohibited from stepping out of the apartment. The severely bitten person suddenly came back to life and attacked all the living people they saw. The so-called 'medical staff' sent by the government also faltered... All kinds of messy footage, mixed with the sharp points of residents, reporters, police and others. Shouting, shouting, this kind of realism is a bit like the game "Escape". The audience is no longer from the perspective of God, and can only follow the confused lens to understand the truth step by step. The chasing of the living dead and the living in the narrow stairwell is also heart-wrenching.

Overall it's a good thriller.

REC quotes

  • Ángela: [to Pablo, before interviewing a fireman] If this is a pain in the ass, just cut, okay?

  • Álex: People think we run around, putting out fires but around 70% of the calls we get are for other types of services.

    Ángela: Like what?

Álex: For example, broken water mains, or pet rescue too. Even though it sounds cliché, it's true.
