What if it was me?

"The Shawshank Redemption" is indeed very classic and inspirational, but in that movie with dazzling human brilliance, Stephen King's shock to me is far less than this one.

Whether it is natural disasters, man-made disasters or alien creatures, the first reaction of human beings is "fear", what a chilling word, it can drive away the courage, courage and hope in our body at any time, thus driving people into confusion and madness ,even death.
A small supermarket, a glass door without any defense function, a group of helpless and incompetent townspeople, there are "brave" heroes, "devout" believers, wise old people, and helpless children. The persecution of the ugly and ferocious monsters outside the window, everyone's true faces are undoubtedly revealed, whether they are kind, or ugly, or brave, or cowardly, or run away, or sit still, or hysterically, or make their own decisions, and pass away peacefully... one by one Behind the ordinary face hides the annihilation of humanity that bursts out at any time. Who will be the next one to die?

I'm not a hero, I don't believe in religion, I don't engage in personality worship, and I don't have the ability and courage to redeem others. The only thing I can do is to live a humble or noble life, and then accept the judgment of fate.

Behind the fog is a monster, and behind the monster is fear, so what is behind the fear? Faced with such a ridiculous ending, I think we should do more than sigh...

The Mist quotes

  • Wayne Jessup: I heard stuff.

    Mrs. Carmody: Stuff...

Wayne Jessup: Yeah, we all heard stuff! Like uh, how they... they thought that there were other dimensions. You know, other... other worlds all around us, and how they wanted to try to make a window, you know, so they can look through and see what's on the other side.

Mrs. Carmody: Well maybe your window turned out to be a door. Isn't it?

Wayne Jessup: Not my door! It's the scientists!

Mrs. Carmody: [sarcastically] Oh, the scientists.

Wayne Jessup: Yes, the scientists! They must've ripped a hole through by accident. That's how their world keeps on spilling through into ours. That's what Donaldson was saying right before he killed himself. I didn't understand half of it.

  • Dan Miller: [after the car runs out of gas] Well, we gave it a good shot. Nobody can say we didn't.
