Write to you while watching The Graduate.
The running man.
He is very like you.
his affection. struggle. overbearing. disobedient. tough.
His childishness. He doesn't care.
"Sound of Silence" and "Scarborough Fair" are chanted over and over again from beginning to end.
What I prefer is the less famous and less beautiful Sound of Silence.
Hello dark. my old friend.
Just like that, it's like Benjamin in the movie.
Silently sank to the bottom of the water, sketching deep and shallow memories.
At first I saw Benjamin on the aunt's bed.
I thought it was a rebellious youth story about a repressed boy.
Until the innocent and beautiful Elaine appeared.
He took him on a flying car. to bar. Watch the dance.
She finally couldn't hold back the tears in front of him.
As well as the heavy rain that covered him and his senselessness and firmness afterwards: I want to marry her.
Only then did I realize that I was still talking about a beautiful and vigorous love.
And when at last he called out her name. She eloped with him desperately.
It is not a happy ending, but it has unquestionable courage and determination.
I especially liked the scene where Benjamin was loudly questioning Elaine in the library.
An anxious big man has the domineering and soft heart of a child.
Forty-one years ago, this film, which was a big hit in major film festivals, is
now revisited and somewhat tepid.
But that doesn't stop me from loving it. And it is highly recommended as soon as you read it, disturbing your mind when you are concentrating on killing the enemy.
Actually I was just thinking.
I was so loved by a man when I was young.
Even if it hurts. Even in a fire-fighting attitude.
It will also be a happy thing.
