The story is set in 1607 in the 17th century, a competitive era of rapid colonialism. A ship carrying British explorers from the Virginia Company was on its way to North America in search of gold and other valuable resources. The ship's leaders were Captain John Smith and Governor John Raleigh. On the way, the ship encountered a storm, and when Thomas, a rookie sailor, accidentally fell into the water, Smith also jumped into the water, saving Thomas' life, and the two became good friends.

At this time, in the "New World", Pocahontas, the daughter of Chief Indian Bowharton, heard that her father wanted her to marry Gao Gang, the strongest warrior in the tribe. However, Pocahontas thought that Gao Gang was too serious and did not want to marry him, so he went to a talking tree spirit in the forest, Granny Willow, for advice. And Willow mother-in-law told Pocahontas, asking her to listen to her heart.

As soon as the ship full of British landed in Virginia, Governor Raleigh ordered all the crew to start digging for gold. Smith went into the forest alone to explore and met Pocahontas. During her time with Smith, Pocahontas taught him to look at the world from a completely different perspective than before. Everything is full of spirituality, beauty is everywhere, and everything is everywhere. The clansmen are treated as "savages". But at this time, at the site of the gold mines, there was a clash between the soldiers of Bowery and the British, and one of the Indian soldiers was shot. So the warriors decided to retreat, which made the chief think the white people were very dangerous and did not allow the tribe to approach them, and decided to call the nearby allied tribes to unite against the white people.

A few days later, when Pocahontas met Smith again, she told Smith that there was no gold mine in the nearby land, and the two also agreed to meet again that evening under Granny Willow. However, when Pocahontas returned to the tribe, he found that the warriors of the nearby allied tribes had arrived, ready to help the Powadun tribe to fight against the white people together. On the other hand, when Smith returned to the camp, he told the Governor that there were no gold mines nearby, but the Governor did not believe him, believing that the Indians were secretly hiding many gold mines.

That night, Pocahontas' best friend, Nicole Mann, found out that she had secretly left the tribe again, and went to inform Gao Gang. At the same time, Smith also quietly left the camp, but was discovered by Thomas and the Governor, so the Governor ordered Thomas to follow Smith. After Pocahontas and Smith met, Granny Willow persuaded Smith to talk to Chief Bowardon to try to avoid war. When Smith agreed to meet the chief, Pocahontas felt very happy and hugged Smith tightly. Under the secret surveillance of Thomas and Gao Gang, the two of them kissed. Due to jealousy, Gao Gang jumped out and rushed at Smith, intending to kill him with a knife, but Thomas saw this and shot and killed Gao Gang. The gunshots caught the attention of some Indians, so Smith told Thomas to flee the scene. But when the Indians arrived, they believed that Smith who was present was the murderer who shot Gao Gang, so they arrested Smith and brought him back to the tribe. Chief Bowwarden ordered Smith to be executed the next morning before the war began. Thomas returned to the camp and told everyone that Smith had been captured. The Governor took this opportunity to set out to attack the Indians the next morning and rescue Smith at the same time.

The next morning, just as Smith was about to be executed, the Governor's army arrived on the scene. Just as Chief Bowardon was about to kill Smith, Pocahontas rushed up, hugged Smith, and told her father that if he had to kill Smith, he had to kill his own daughter first. The chief ordered her to leave, but Pocahontas refused and told her father that she was in love with Smith. Pocahontas told her father that the consequences of the war would be unimaginable, and that the path she chose was to be with Smith, to live in peace instead of killing each other. Pocahontas wanted her father to think twice about the path he would choose: war or peace. After thinking about what Pocahontas said, the chief decided to choose peace and declared that he would not start any more wars. As a result, the Indian soldiers and the British soldiers also laid down their weapons. However, when the Chief ordered Smith to be released, the unconvinced Governor fired a shot at the Chief. Smith immediately jumped at the Chief and shot himself. When the British saw it, they arrested the Governor and sent him back to England for betrayal.

Smith survived, but with serious injuries he must return to England for medical surgery or die. Before Smith was to be sent aboard, he told the others to wait a little longer, because Pocahontas had promised him that he would see him again. It was then that Pocahontas and some of her clan came out of the woods with many baskets full of food to give to them. Pocahontas stepped forward and gave Smith a bag of Granny Willow's bark, telling him it would ease his pain. The chieftain, Bao Wharton, gave Smith a turban representing the tribe, and told Smith that his people would always welcome them. The chief also thanked Smith for saving his life and called him "brother". Smith wanted Pocahontas to go back to England with him, but Pocahontas cried and told Smith that she had to stay in the tribe, which was the path she wanted to choose. Finally, Pocahontas ran to the edge of the cliff and watched the British ship leave the river and sail to the sea, and the story ended.
