Since watching the first "Silence of the Lambs" in this series, I believe that everyone will come up with such a question.
Because in the movie, it was Hannibal who helped the FBI catch Billy the Buffalo; it was Hannibal who gave Starling the courage to solve the case; it was Hannibal who fell in love with Starling, and in the end, cut himself off, not Starling Arm... So, Hannibal also has a good side.
After enjoying so many Anthony Hopkins master-level performances, the definition of Hannibal in our hearts is: cold, cruel, ferocious, murderous, and full of yearning for freedom.
However, isn't this character itself full of contradictions?
On the contrary, this is the character the original author wanted to create. In the original book, most of the people Hannibal killed were not good people, except for one FBI officer. Since then, we can see that Hannibal is actually a heroic figure.
In this vicious society, people can only survive by becoming ruthless, otherwise, they will be killed by Hannibal. Maybe that's why Hannibal became a demon.
So, to sum up, although Hannibal is a killer and a ruthless killer, there is still a kind of pity in his heart. It is a kind of supreme pity of the strong for the weak.
