Walk with me

A film that has been watched relatively well recently has a single clue, that is, a few children secretly left home to see the body of a boy, and all their experiences on the road.
This is not an adventure movie, nor is it science fiction or horror, (although this is Stephen King’s specialty), so the basic tone of realism determines that the story cannot be endless and there will not be too much thrills. This is the framework for the story. There are no small problems. How to avoid distortion and make the story look too thin has become the primary issue of the play. The first consideration is of course the secondary line. In this film, it is Sutherland. , Too young) played the bad boy Ace, but obviously, due to the one-way nature of the story, it is impossible to divide too many scenes to complete the secondary line, so the secondary line is still relatively weak overall. Then the key to the success or failure of the film lies in the characterization, no doubt, he succeeded. The film focuses on Gotti and Ellis. The former lives in the huge shadow of his brother, ignored and even hated by his parents. In fact, through Ellis’ words, we can know that he is already a good child. Another reason for his sadness is that his deceased brother was the only person in the family who cared about him. The impact of such a shadow on a child is hard to imagine, because the parents represent all the just and selfless love in this world in the eyes of the child. The latter was wronged as a thief, and it was his teacher who used his status as a “bad boy” to make it impossible to cleanse him. The two children with such a burden on their backs showed that among the four, the others were hard to reach. Maturity and stability, injury is indeed a factor for rapid growth, but for children, it is too cruel.
Wien and Teddy, who have a lower status, have not reduced their pen and ink because of their status. At least, the characters' personalities are quite complete, and they are still fresh in the memory.
There are not many things that happened on the road, except for those wonderful dialogues, what can be called the plot is the flashing of the train, the diving in the pond, and the encounters with the dog, but with the rich character dialogue, the whole film can be seen. It's quite substantial and relaxed.
The film’s approach to breaking the linear narrative is flashbacks and interspersed with Gotti’s memories of his brother. It should be said that it is very useful to follow the story from an adult perspective, because in addition to breaking the single narrative clue, it also plays a certain lyrical mood. The role, especially the entry point is that Ellis was killed for doing good deeds, not only the narrative is more reasonable, but also the many points in the film are taken care of. There has been a big fluctuation in the emotions, which makes people feel embarrassed!

Stand by Me quotes

  • Gordie: [Angry] Fuck writing, I don't want to be a writer. It's stupid. It's a stupid waste of time.

    Chris: That's your dad talking.

    Gordie: [Still angry] Bullshit!

    Chris: Bull true.

Chris: I know how your dad feels about you. He doesn't give a shit about you. Denny was the one. He cared about and don't try to tell me different. You're just a kid, Gordie.

Gordie: [Shocked and Angry] Oh, gee! Thanks, Dad!

Chris: Wish the hell I was your dad. You wouldn't be goin' around talkin' about takin' these stupid shop courses if I was. It's like God gave you something, man, all those stories you can make up. And He said, "This is what we got for ya, kid. Try not to lose it." Kids lose everything unless there's someone there to look out for them. And if your parents are too fucked up to do it, then maybe I should.

  • Teddy: This is my age! I'm in the prime of my youth, and I'll only be young once!

Chris: Yeah, but you're gonna be stupid for the rest of your life.
