This film is Ethan Hawke said it was cool and I took it to heart and looked for it. Hehe, cool 80s movie that funny uncle loves. I watched it again and fast-forwarded it again, and I also thought it was really cool. If it was the first time in the first hour, it would be very boring, but it will be very beautiful if you get through it. This time I will talk about it extravagantly. In fact, many of the dialogues and recurring characters in the film are worth talking about, and the film is definitely worth watching.
Let me talk about my personal feeling when I watch it—the whole person is very empty, bored, and very eager to vent—I already know that life is a stagnant water, but I want to stir the pond to create some movement. I felt the same way when I watched The Last Time I Committed Suicide and On the Road. The works born in "Broken" and "Lost" always fascinate me.
The entire film is almost colorless and seems to want you to see the world through the eyes and thoughts of someone in the film. Only the rumble fish has colors, which are particularly bright and eye-catching. The bright reds and blues reflect the dynamism of their lives, but this brilliance is also dangerous. Rumble fish appears several times in the film, and each appearance means a progression of the plot, and it also has a symbolic meaning.
The bad boys in this town, like rumble fish, worship simple violence, wrestling anywhere in the narrow waters, causing chaos and bloodshed. I have thought many times about what kind of people would like to pick quarrels and stir up trouble, and after watching this film, I understand a little more. People who haven't thought about the future like to solve problems in simple and rude ways, and people who haven't seen the sea like to keep reaffirming their sovereignty on their little broken ground. Fighting is a way to transform fear, and when fighting, fear becomes another emotion - a breath of life in the face of hopelessness, it may be anger, it may be courage.
In fact, I really like the protagonist Rusty James, the kind of stupid and innocent little gangster who does bad things but lacks the brain to do bad things, wants to see the sea but has no chance. On the other hand, the other protagonist did not go to see the sea even if he had the chance. There are also many places in the film that also show Rusty James' yearning for a better life, including the girl he likes, the place he wants to go, and the goal in life. But his goal is not very good, is a wise and calm berserker.
The actors of the film are also worth mentioning. In addition to the two leading actors who played the brothers, Diane Lane and Nicolas Cage, and even Lawrence in my youth, made my eyes shine, with a kind of intimacy of seeing acquaintances.
