The guidance of director Fisher Stephens allowed the actors to retain their wonderful performances. The small-town atmosphere of the film has a feeling that this story is real. Although the story uses the same and similar routines in many movies, the process of watching it gives people a sense of A fresh feeling, Justin Timberlake and other actors performed well, this time Justin fully integrated into the role, the young actor Ryder Allen played a great role, Cheryl Guerriero's script has a unique role and touching scenes, I believe most people will be moved when they see it.

This is a heartwarming story between Palmer and Sam. Eddie Palmer was imprisoned for 12 years. The former football star was released from prison and returned to live with his grandmother in a small town in Louisiana. Jobs were rejected by many and eventually found jobs as school cleaners. And Sam is male, but he likes Penny Lope's flying princess animation, dolls, makeup, tea parties, dancing. Sam is often yelled at by his mother and discriminated against by her boyfriend in the RV life. Palmer was also Abandoned by her mother, and raised by her grandmother after her father's death, it was the same similar encounter that brought the two together, which is what makes the plot different.

The supporting roles helped the two protagonists a lot. There were not many scenes, but the performances showed the true side of the characters. Sam's mother Shirley who was addicted to drugs, Ms. Vivian who raised them, the school's teacher Maggie, mainly Papa Palmer and Sam's "freedom" restricted by the people around them, challenges to school bullying, queer discrimination, and legal guardianship, Palmer who was in prison alone took up the truth, and several other so-called friends, some of whom were will not be caught.

The film explores the relationship between children's pre-adolescent gender cognition and parental responsibility, and discusses the discrimination of those with criminal records, which is likely to lead to a return to crime.

In the film, Palmer went from selfishness to acceptance. Sam expressed his thoughts after growing up, and finally gave a warm ending. The imperfect Palmer was influenced by Sam, and the innocent Sam got the happiest gift.
