Law & Order S1E9 ?
Unlike ordinary child abuse cases, which are still shocking even today, it is adapted from the 1987 case of Lisa Steinberg's tortured death.
◇ Good victim and bad victim, similar to the concept of perfect or imperfect victim, in this episode refers to the wife who was coerced by her husband and abused her child to death. On the one hand, her extreme narcissism and unconditional obedience and indifference to abused children led directly to her daughter's death.
◇ Murder by Inaction is not murder: the mother directly hurt the daughter, but the father is the leader of everything, so in the end, based on the mother's testimony, the father was charged and convicted of second-degree murder.
◇ The school's attitude of calmness and fear of accusations that would affect the parents' reputation, as well as the bureaucratic management of the Children's Services Department and the objective backlog of cases, make such domestic violence cases not taken seriously, and are also one of the reasons for the tragedy.
