American movies in particular have long used the star system as a value guide, especially character stars such as John Wayne (see "The Searcher"). Actors and celebrities are less ideological. For example, Kim Hackman can be either loyal or adulterous.
Beauty and sexual attraction will also make our ancestors have a good impression of certain characters. Sometimes the actor's attraction is too strong, even if he plays an ideologically negative role, the audience still loves him. Just like Tom Cruise, he can play the right-wing "High Ambition" or the left-leaning "Born on July 4th." In the same way, Julia Roberts's performance in "Pretty Woman" is natural and full of charm, which makes us almost forget that her role is just a stereotype of sexual discrimination.
