Despite its age, "The Wizard of Oz" still seems to be a feast of sight and hearing. The theme song "over the rainbow" is a well-known song in the history of music, and the gorgeous pictures of this film are made with the most advanced "tenicolor" technology of the year. The sophisticated graphics and music make this film costly. But the box office in those years was terrible. Why has such a commercial fiasco become a classic in film history today and has been discussed and recommended so far? To understand from the story itself, this is a wonderful fairy tale about friendship and growth. But the extension of the film in the cultural sense cannot be summarized in this simple way. In fact, this is an iconic film for LGBT equality. The film’s starring Judy Garland may be the first gay icon in the strict sense. The heroine of the film, Dorothy (Judy Garland), is a very tolerant girl. She does not hesitate to accept all kinds of strange-looking and socially unacceptable friends. So in the United States, LGBT people called themselves "Friend of Dorothy." And the reason why the rainbow flag is used in LGBT parades all over the world?️? is also because of the theme song of the film "over the rainbow". This film is a very good education of tolerance and equality for children, even if you don’t understand the cultural meaning behind the film. This is also a good movie with a wonderful and interesting plot, full of love and sunshine. Well-deserved first place.
