The content of "Telephone" is suspenseful and brain-burning, and the plots are interlocking. Although there are not many bloody and horrifying pictures in the whole process, but after peeling off the cocoon and pulling the thread to solve the puzzle, it is extremely terrifying. The narration of the film is not complicated, so I don’t have to sort out the story line in a big way. I only talk about my feelings in terms of acting skills and the ending easter eggs.
The two heroines are Yingshu played by Jeon Zhongrui and Shuyan played by Park Shin Hye. The explosive acting skills add a lot to the film. The first half isn't obvious because Young-sook's mother has been helping her daughter overcome her mental disorder by "casting spells" all the time. But when Yingshu found out that her mother wanted to kill her, she abandoned the last bit of humanity, and her anti-social personality was also exposed. She killed her mother with her backhand and completely became a cold-blooded demon.
The real flashpoint, that is, the wonderful beginning, was the phone call after Shu-yeon found out the truth about Young-sook's murder. The first time Shuyan hung up the phone, Yingshu first slowly stretched out the tip of her tongue and hooked her lower and upper lip, then pulled the corner of her mouth to show a sneering expression, her evil eyes seemed to say "Damn, you found out". She finally ripped off her mask and revealed her true colors, cursing "Bitch, have you forgotten my kindness to you". At this moment, Shu Yan was so frightened that her whole body twitched violently. She held the phone with trembling hands, and her fingers clenched tightly on the phone. The fear and shock were vividly displayed through tiny detailed movements and subtle facial expressions.
Yingshu not only has no regrets, but repeatedly asked Shuyan to help her escape the guilt. After being rejected by Shuyan for the second time, she yelled at her and wanted to smash the phone, but her raised hand was hanging in the air. Hesitantly fell again, with nowhere to vent her anger, she frantically thumped the bag containing corpses in the bathtub with her fists, cursing hysterically on the phone, her messy hair covering the faintly hideous profile of her face. After calming down, she picked up the phone and sat on the ground, allowing the blood in the bathtub behind her to overflow and slowly flow to her side. On the other end of the phone, Shu Yan was so frightened that she panicked. She didn't expect that the friend she thought she was close to was actually a murderous devil. She frantically disconnected the phone line, clasped her head in her hands and sobbed repressedly, because she was afraid that her parents would hear it. Forbidden to make a sound, then raised his head and looked around in horror. This series of actions can easily put the audience into the atmosphere of suppressing fear. There are too many details to list.
As for the ending egg, I feel that not only is there no unfinished ending, but it is the most exciting part. If you want a Happy Ending, you can choose to ignore the easter egg, which means that Shuying was already dead the moment she fell down the stairs. Yes, everyone is happy. But this is not what the author wants to express.
I prefer the ending of the easter egg. After careful analysis, in the fight in 1999, Shu-yeon's mother and Young-sook fell down the stairs at the same time, but neither of them died. Shuyan's mother got up first, thinking that Yingshu was dead, and was going to take Xiao Shuyan to escape from the house. Because 99-year-old Young-sook was in a coma at the time, 19-year-old Seo-yeon was able to get out of the predicament of being chased by Young-sook, and then ran to the cemetery to meet her mother, enjoying a short happy time without Young-sook.
But Yingshu in 1999 actually received a call from her future self before the police came, and told her to hold the phone tightly. At this moment, Yingshu in the past and the future got the call, which means that the situation has long since been completely resolved. Controlled by Young-sook. Later, in 1999, she woke up from a coma and killed Shuyan's mother, which led to the fact that Shuyan's mother was still by Shuyan's side one second before, and suddenly disappeared the next second. (That is, the two timelines of the past and the future are advancing in parallel, and the actions of a certain node in the past directly affect the future and happen at the same time.) At the end of the film, the covered white cloth is lifted, and Shuyan, who was tied to a chair when she was a child, changes. She became Seo-yeon who was tied up when she grew up, maybe she has been imprisoned by Young-sook in this spooky basement for more than 20 years since then.
The author's reversal of this ending is actually very clever, pushing the story to a new level. Everything has a cause and effect. Forcibly changing the future through the past will often backfire. Just like the butterfly effect, one trigger affects the whole body, and the situation falls into a vicious circle. "The past cannot be remonstrated, and the come can still be pursued", the past has become a fixed number, it is meaningless to indulge in it, the important thing is to cherish the present, and believe that everything in front of you is the best arrangement, and this moment is the key to determining fate .
