Like O'Henry's novels, the endings are reversed. But I have always been agitated about choosing the male protagonist as the host. Just because he's a retro human who doesn't use technology? He ruined his family just because of this? When the powerful resort to violence, the weak are powerless to contend, only the gentle township indulged in fantasy.
Being immersed in VR is reluctant to come out, which is quite similar to Inception. When the boundary between fantasy and reality is no longer clear, human nature will become a pusher, pushing itself into the abyss of nothingness step by step, as long as you believe that the world is not real "The world is not real".
Reminds me of the words my wife read before jumping off the building in Inception: You're wating for a train. A train that'll take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you...but you can' t know for sure. Yet it dosen't matter.
