The film presents a gripping adventure with giant monsters running amok and handsome guys and beauties. The stars also guarantee the quality of the film, there are gags, villains, and heroism.
The story in the film takes place in 1973. Goodman takes a pair of scientists, Hawkins and Jing Tian, to an unknown island to verify reports of prehistoric behemoths before the Russians.
On the way, they met the mercenary Dowson, the photojournalist Larson and the helicopter team led by the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director in Vietnam. But their arrival alarmed the island's overlord, Giant Ape King Kong.
After the crash, everyone just ran for their lives. Later, they meet the abandoned World War II pilot Riley, and they learn that Kong is actually protecting the world from the invasion of even more terrible monsters.
The story is full of cold humor, bickering and 70s rock music. This makes the movie look super cool, but also hides the lack of depth.
The special effects scene of the film is very good.
