The movie is based on Friedman v. Rogers. In 1979, the United States on television advertising aimed at children banned sugary foods from being advertised to children on television.
Eating too many sweets and sweets is bad for children, and the government was preparing to pass legislation to stop food companies from advertising. It was later refuted by a barrister named Fred Felt, making the bill not passed!
