This show is so emotionally decoupled

This problem has been there in the past, but this season seems to be more serious. As far as the first episode is concerned, the protagonist of the opening chapter travels through the time and space tunnel and finds that he has successfully saved the living beings in the galaxy. But the audience already knew the result, there were no surprises, and there was no emotional catharsis. The result was watching this exaggerated acting and thinking about how long it would take to start the feature film. The emotional climax in the play does not coincide with that of the audience in reality.

Similar examples include the disintegration of the Federation and the disappearance of the Discovery. These supposedly emotional climaxes were all spoiled in the trailer, and the audience even got a glimpse of their reunion in the trailer. The lack of suspense directly resulted in no emotional connection to the protagonist, and I really had to fast-forward every time I saw the protagonist start to perform hard.

That question, combined with the pompous Star Wars-ish script, is a big disappointment to me this season.

Comments on IMDB:

Just flat and cringeworthy. Scenes and graphics which could have been found on stock footage websites and in well-worn screenplay books. The dialogue seems to emphasize profound, propulsive language, behind which there is no meaning. The actors are doing the best they can , with material which is wanting to say the least.

The bottom line is is: this isn't Star Trek, has nothing to do with Star Trek, and is just milking a cow which has already been milked dry.

  • Ithor the Orion: [referring to Booker] What cargo was he hauling?

Michael Burnham: I don't know, but it was temperature-sensitive, and really valuable, so it's probably ice cream.

  • Michael Burnham: I may have broken your nose earlier. I apologize.

Cleveland Booker: You saying that in case we die?

    Michael Burnham: Yup.
