Unpredictable ending

Didn't know Beowulf's story before watching this movie.
Watched the first part of the movie and thought it was just a corny flick of a hero subduing a monster.
But seeing the end of the film changed my opinion of the film drastically.
Every hero bears such a repentance, and the heroes in the eyes of ordinary people are actually just ordinary people. They make mistakes and they try to cover up mistakes.
The second half of the film is quite deep. Beowulf did not withstand the temptation, and the child born with the demon finally grew up, causing a deeper disaster to the kingdom. Beowulf had to sacrifice himself to make up for his mistakes. And that's exactly what the previous kings tried to do.
Round after round, the story doesn't end at the end, and the demon continues to tempt the new king.
But maybe it won't be Beowulf's story after that.
Is this fate?

Finally, it is worth mentioning that the computer technology of this film makes it almost impossible to distinguish what is real and what is computer production. I wonder if this film can be regarded as an animation?

Beowulf quotes

  • Unferth: Good night, Beowulf. Watch out for sea monsters. I'm sure your imagination must be teeming with them.

  • Yrsa: They say he ripped the monster's limb off with his bare hands.

Gitte: [giggles] I wonder if Beowulf's strength is only in his arms, or in his legs as well... all three of them

    [both giggle]

Wealthow: Well, after the feast tonight I'm sure you can find out, Gitte.

Gitte: Me? It's not me he wants, my queen.
