I think this sentence may be said in reverse:

What the film wants to tell is the rebellion and return of recent two generations of American women to traditional American culture, morals, ethics, kinship, and principles. At the end of the film, the mother and daughter return to their grandmother Georgia's adherence to the seemingly old-fashioned but tender values in life.
