"Interlude" is the most outstanding representative of Dadaism. The film consists of a series of absurd scenes: carrying a moving cannon, a ballet shot from the bottom up, shooting a dancing bird's egg scene, and using high-speed photography The funeral procession that lost its solemnity, and the magician who finally jumped out of the coffin. It constitutes a dark comedy full of imagination and absurdity.
A series of scenes and materials in reality have become messy and disordered under the editing of director Rene Claire, and there is no logic at all. Such a seemingly wanton editing alone has brought unexpected effects, like the In a ballet scene in the film, when the camera was pulled up, it was found to be a man with a beard, which made people laugh all of a sudden.
This is the amazing thing about this film, using real things to create a surreal mood.
