When you grow up, your heart dies. Who cares? I care.

Even if rebellious like Bender, he can only shout fuck you in the loud noise of the door closing!!! When the teacher forced him to the corner and yelled I wanna know how tough you are, Bender showed fear and unbelievable eyes you're threatening me? Only then can you see clearly that the seemingly fearless teenagers are not tough. The rebellion of adolescence cannot even be called rebellion. It is so vulnerable in the authority of adult abuse. The adults who are regarded as the parents of teachers and teachers are trusted and depended on by young people, but they satisfy their self-esteem and conceit from unequal oppression. This is also called education.

A conversation between five different teenagers in a closed space produced identification and love. Only they are equal and free, we have each others. Their friendship is very fragile, and may not even last Monday. But even this kind of sympathy in my heart is equally precious.

When you grow up, your heart dies. Who cares? I care.

Don't be such an adult who can't communicate.

This damn it is called a youth movie. Youth is not just an abortion and a love triangle, nor is it just a crush on a game in the college entrance examination. What a youth movie should really talk about is the problems faced by a generation of young people. Which teenager is not confused, which girl is not hesitating. The film talked about the situation of American youth that I have been curious about, such as the discrimination against nerds, the high status of athletes, and the parent-child relationship of Americans. And it is estimated that many situations have not changed substantially now. Advocating individuality is worth learning, but this cultural orientation will inevitably lead to various problems in another version of the film, and we need to pay special attention these years. People always have to discriminate against something in order to live, but young people are less likely to hide their discrimination. In the opposite of authority, in rock and marijuana, young people grumble and spring up. Coupled with the nerd's questions about whether they will retain their friendship at the beginning of school, and the janitor's response to the teacher's complaints about the youth, these scenes. All of them make me admire the director's five bodies. It's a good director to be able to take small shots to make big shots, from shallow to deep, and new to common ones.

3.5. The movie is limited to one day, and the strong atmosphere of the 1980s reverberates in the "Library of Confinement", the day of the uprising of the Breakfast Club (the League of Remaining Students). Finally, I boldly used a scene (sitting and talking) to dissolve the knots between a few teenagers (communication failure with family and school and self-enclosure), which was a bit clumsy, and the dialogue was full of bright spots. The ending is a bit cute.

The Breakfast Club quotes

  • John Bender: Hey, homeboy, what do you say we close that door, we'll get the prom queen impregnated.

  • Brian's mom: Now is this the first time or the last time you do this to me?

    Brian Johnson: Last.

Brian's mom: Now get in there and use the time to your advantage.

Brian Johnson: Mom, we're not supposed to study, we just have to sit there and do nothing.

Brian's mom: Well mister, you figure out a way to study.

    Brian's sister: Yeah.
