These old war movies are really good.

Just watched "Grey Hound" a few days ago, and the score is not low, but compared with this film, it is still inferior.

This film and "Grey Hound" just constitute the perspective of both the enemy and the enemy, and the effect of eating together is quite good.

War movies are no exception to discuss a topic, in the end what is the meaning of war.

In the real life and death, when the great terror comes, people start to return to themselves, start to think about the meaning of their life, what kind of family and country the righteousness begins to fade, and there is only fear in the mind, only wanting the company of another person, wanting to struggle to live go down.

Individuals in war are not right or wrong, they just execute orders from their own standpoint. They are all innocent people. Who is at fault?

I watched the director's cut, the German soundtrack with external subtitles. Too close to real... 5 stars+... Excellent war movie, submarine movie must be number one. There are so many good actors, all of them are born in drama... It's amazing... The background music is classic...

The inside of the long and narrow submarine just fits the perfect long shot, and every character from the captain to the sailor is three-dimensional. The submarine, which overcame many disasters and finally returned safely, was sunk by the raiding air force before it had time to celebrate. In the face of war and power, fate was toyed with.

Das Boot quotes

  • Captain of the 'Weser': So, what's it like down there, in a submarine?

    Der Leitende: It's... quiet.

Captain of the 'Weser': Quiet? Hmm.

  • [Werner takes pictures of the watch officers on the conning tower]

Captain: Take pictures of the crew returning, not putting out to sea.

    Lt. Werner: Why?

Captain: They'll have grown beards by then. It would shame the Tommies to see mere boys give them Hell. Baby faces. Ones that should still suck mama's breast.

    [pause]

Captain: I feel ancient around these kids, like I'm on some Children's Crusade.
