Let the dream stay in life

At the time of writing this review, Notting Hill has been in theaters for almost 9 years, and the first time I saw this movie should have been a few years ago. The reason why I am writing about my feelings about it now is because when I was traveling in London, I went to Notting Hill to find the travel book shop... Because the time is too long, the one I actually saw is already there. It wasn't the one in the movie, but when I sat across from the bookstore and replayed the memories scene by scene, I still felt content. Sitting in a quiet corner looking at the blue doors of the bookstore in the flow of people passing through Notting Hill Market in the sun on a Saturday morning, I felt content.

Many people say that this is an old-fashioned story of a frog turning into a prince. It is undeniable that it has a strong fairy tale color, but when I watched this movie, it was not the frog that finally became a prince that moved me, but the fact that I was moved by this story. The many details in the story made me see the sacrifice behind the success: when everyone was vying to be elected the most unlucky person, all the people in the room ignored the big star Julia, but the story she told made everyone. People were quiet for a moment; they saw the calmness of human nature: when there were a group of reporters outside the door, and when the big star Julia regretted her staying in the room very angry, Hugh said lightly: Is that right? I'm just the opposite, I'm glad you've lived here; everyone feels sad when they see it: when Hugh heard Julia's words on the set through the headphones, he said Of course and turned away early; Persistence: When Julia stood in front of Hugh and asked him to love her; saw the power of love or affection: when everyone was about to rush to the hotel, the husband insisted on stopping and carried his wife into the car; more often, he saw the support of friendship: The support and tacit understanding among a few friends...

How many times in real life when we admire the success of the so-called Julia-like people, we ignore the extraordinary efforts behind it; how many times we turn around and leave like Huge because of some inexplicable factors We gave up; how many times did our friends help us up when we were about to endure; how many times we didn't dare to express our true feelings like Julia. . . Those scenes are actually so familiar that we and our friends are the characters...

When a movie can express some warmth of human nature with precise dialogue and subtle actions, I feel that no matter its plot story is old-fashioned or not, it has become the bits and pieces of our lives. Our friends, our families, our dreams, our persistence... I remember when I was going to Notting Hill to find that bookstore, my friend said jokingly: Do you want to meet Hugh there? I replied: No, I want to fulfill a dream of my own. There is no reason for this dream. It is only about feelings, inner feelings. Maybe some people will never understand, maybe some find it ridiculous, but I'm proud to persevere, and I'm happy to have the opportunity to make it happen!

Many times, some dreams seem so unrealistic, but it is a dream, so need to persevere. We are already living in a very realistic environment, so when we dare to dream and want to stick to it and work hard to achieve it, no matter what the end result is, our life is already colorful! Notting Hill is actually a dream, and many people find the shadow of their dream in it! It is about love, about success, about friendship, about family, about touching...

Because of Mao, I don’t feel anything about this. Because of Mao, I don’t feel anything about the two protagonists.

Notting Hill quotes

  • P.R. Chief: Dominic... if you'd like to ask your question again?

Journalist: Yes. Anna, how long are you intending to stay here in Britain?

    Anna Scott: [pause] Indefinitely.

  • William: Whoopsidaisies!

Anna Scott: What did you say?

    William: Nothing.

    Anna Scott: Yes you did.

    William: No I didn't.

    Anna Scott: You said "whoopsidaisies".

William: I don't think so. No one says "whoopsidaisies" do they? Unless they're...

Anna Scott: There *is* no "unless." No one has said "whoopsidaisies" for fifty years and even then it was only little girls with blonde ringlets.

William: Exactly. Here we go again.

[He falls off the fence again]

William: Whoopsidaisies. It's a disease I've got. It's a clinical thing. I'm taking pills and having injections. It won't last long.
