"High Aspirations" tells the story of the American naval pilot Medellin, who used his old pilot father as an idol.
This film is also the famous work of Brother Tom. The filming time of the film was in 1986. I have to admit that even though it has been more than 30 years since "Rising Clouds" that year, although today’s weapons and equipment are more modern and the film’s shooting technology is more advanced, no matter the storyline. It is still the air combat special effects, which still shocked us who are used to the 3D masterpiece.
The entire film is nearly two hours long, and about one and a half hours of footage is the content of fighters chasing each other and fighting each other, super burning! In this way, it is in line with the positioning of an air combat movie. The audience watching air combat movies mainly watch battles in the sky that ordinary people can't touch. This is the core of this kind of film's appeal. In particular, the F14 fighter jet piloted by Tom, is almost every man's feelings.
Another highlight of this movie is the classic theme song Take my breath away that has been sung so far, which is really too classic.
Generally speaking, I still regard this old film more than 30 years ago as the standard for measuring air combat movies in my mind.
