Staying home in spring 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak. Watching "Lone Survivor" again.
In this world, it is difficult for us to distinguish whether a war is just or unjust. In most cases, they are nothing more than games of power holders. But for soldiers, the word justice is a little too ethereal. Every soldier may join the army for various reasons: the pressure of life, the search for excitement, the achievement of honor, or the blood of chickens .
But, always remember: in this world, nothing is more important than life!
In the film, the reconnaissance of the US military in Afghanistan resulted in the death of 19 US soldiers, including 11 SEALs. Like the life-or-death training that SEALs go through in the opening sequence. What a pity.
However, it would be a pity to leave aside the 35 gun-wielding enemies who were killed in the battle with the commandos and the more than 600 terrorists who were subsequently bombed to death by the US military in retaliation, as well as the 17 Afghan villagers who were accidentally injured and killed? Life is equally precious.
At the core of the film, the four SEALs unfortunately encounter the shepherd, neither killing nor not killing; who made them face such a painful choice? is war.
War kills people. And the cruelty of war is that once it begins, it cannot end well. Just like when Japan attacked US Pearl Harbor during World War II, the United States dropped atomic bombs on Japan; it is like the crimes of Japan's war of aggression against China and the Chinese people's ambivalent attitude towards Japan today.
The only result of war is to show that war is ugly.
