"Angry Youth", a day in the life of three angry youths

The movie I watched this week was "Angry Youth".

Watching one movie a week is a recent practice. After watching it, I must write something. Although it is very unsightly, I always have to write about it. I just came back from climbing the mountain today, and I ate half a watermelon again. I was tired and struggling, and I really couldn’t write anything. I could only barely fulfill my promise.

The narrative of this film is very simple. One main line tells the day of three young people, but the issues discussed are not easy at all. The film deeply reflects the problems of racism in France, the problem of social stratification, the abuse of power by the police, and the problems of young people. There is no future but to do nothing and gradually move towards violence. The film opens with the police's abuse of violence triggering a riot procession, with three youths appearing on the screen as affiliates. The three are friends and all are immigrants. They live in poverty and have no way out. They have been discriminated against by society at ordinary times. This day is even more concentrated. Among them, Vince, the most radical, even used violence to retaliate against the society, and finally let go of the Q he was holding because of his friend's dissuasion, but died of violence at the end of the film. The three people have different personalities, but they will inevitably lead to the same ending, because this is a problem of the whole society, and it cannot be changed by one person or a few people.

The movie was released in 1995, and when the time crossed to 2020, we went to see what is happening in the United States now, which is literally a replica of the movie. The same immigrants were murdered by the police with indiscriminate violence, which also caused the riots, and also rooted in social racism and other issues. More than 20 years later, the so-called civilized and progressive Western society is still a mess. Racism is like a cancer, and it seems that it will never be solved. Is it the only way to go in modern society?

I think the reason why racism arises is because of the flow between different races. They left their homeland and went to other people's homes, occupying other people's living space and resources, and the contradictions gradually intensified, which led to the problem of racism. But why did the movement between races take place? Because of globalization? This may be part of the reason, but I think the root cause is the unbalanced and insufficient development of the world. If the whole world is at the same level of development, flow is just flow, there is nothing that takes over others. Therefore, in order to solve the problem of racism, in addition to all kinds of political correctness, the key is to develop, especially those underdeveloped countries and regions, but this is possible or even impossible to solve in the long run. for economic reasons. It is conceivable that racism will continue to exist around the world for a long time.

There is a very interesting clip in the film. An old man in the toilet inexplicably told three people a story of freezing to death because he got off the train and did not catch the car. It was inexplicable and symbolic, very interesting.
