One, three relationships
Elena's love for David is grateful, redeemed, tender motherhood. David is paralyzed as a hero saving beauty; Elena's transition from drug addiction to caring for him, and her running an orphanage, is also a transition from teenage to motherly caring. When David asked her why she didn't leave her for cheating, she said, "You need my care more than Victor." Her love is more maternal love of gratitude and redemption.
Clara and Sancho, on the other hand, are hard love, full of pain, coercion, violence, intimidation. Sancho has always bound Clara's freedom, slapped her and comforted her (slapped her and gave her a candy), and her words were full of threats. Clara said, "I'll leave you when I'm no longer afraid."
These two feelings are not pure. Victor, on the other hand, has a pure heart, his goals are simple, and his desires are direct. His love has a hard component, such as his childish revenge plan, full of tyrannical conquest and male hormones, just listening to the story makes one's scalp tingle. His love is also soft, he is always sincere in love, and he gives up revenge because of love, and finally calls his children tenderly.
Victor's obsession with Elena is almost innocent, with questioning, shooting, and revenge plans full of childishness. Sancho had been dejected for his wife all his life, and he was indeed a tyrant, but he was also obsessed with love. David roared and defended his wife like a lion king.
2. Love and Desire
Elena's one-night indulgence was first of all because she knew that she hated the wrong person, which meant redemption. The truth of the shooting was that David cheated on Sancho's wife, Sancho vented his anger, and David kept concealing his cheating from her. This brought her helplessness and guilt. Between these two filthy men, Victor was sincere, and his "revenge" was naive and simple.
Secondly, Victor confessed to her a plan of revenge, full of extreme love and male hormones, love is always related to the desire to conquer, and his love is full of power.
Third, being loved is a kind of power that always makes people feel fulfilled unconsciously. Knowing that Victor still thinks of her after all these years brings a sense of accomplishment.
The method of film
Full marks for tension and dramatic conflict. Two rooms, two confrontations, two gunshots, full of tension and a sense of destiny.
When Victor shot for the first time, the sound of the gunfire was cross-edited with the picture of "Criminal Life" on TV, which was exciting.
When David took a candid photo of Victor, he zoomed in on the picture with the sound of the shutter, creating a sense of zoom lens and bringing the audience the pleasure of voyeurism.
In the end, Sancho raised the gun and seemed to aim at Victor's crotch, and the camera moved, and then shot Sancho from Victor's crotch (Kubrick's "Kiss of the Killer" also has a similar shot), reminiscent of Sancho Di One confrontation said, "If you don't put down your gun, I'll blow your ass."
Sancho's blood-soaked hands were clasped with his wife, and the two wedding rings were gleaming, as if they were truly "life and death", which made one shudder.
Almodovar is still always full of rich colors, strong conflicts, and clear love.
