There is no problem with literary war films, but the campaign is wrong!

I recently read the history of World War II and turned it over to deepen my impression. As a result, I watched it patiently, only to realize that I hadn't finished it that year.

The filming of the film is still very good, there are many big stars, the director is also very hardworking, and the battle scene scheduling is first-class. However, it is always wrong to look at it, and there is always the urge to drop the remote control.

Personally, I have always been anti-war, and I have always felt it from "Pot Cover Head" to "Blood Battle Hacksaw Ridge" to the recent "1917". Anti-war thinking is also the standard operation of Hollywood-style war films. Even hero films like Saving Private Ryan and Fury have no meaning of Acura advocating war at all, but they have absolutely no feeling for this film.

From the point of view of personal motivation, the reason for the peace-loving male protagonist to be war-weary and deserter is that his wife and children are hot on the kangtou, and there is no more reason.

From the perspective of the general background, the Battle of Guadalcanal and the Pearl Harbor incident were a year apart. Perhaps, the Battle of Midway was only a matter of the Navy, and the Army did not understand it. However, the United States has declared war on Japan. At this time, the world anti-fascist war is at its most difficult stage. In the United States, where the news media is developed, everyone is aware of the world situation. An individual can hate war or be afraid, but the whole world has reached the most critical moment. Since it is impossible to escape reality, it is also one of human nature's choices to stand up.

From a historical point of view, the Battle of Guadalcanal was the first large-scale close-range confrontation between the inexperienced U.S. Army and the self-proclaimed number one Japanese Army in the world. The Japanese fought tenaciously, and the U.S. military also fought bloody and military might. If the U.S. military appeared on a large scale with such cowards and soft eggs in the film, the record should be even worse, but this is not the case. The greatest significance of the Battle of Guadalcanal is that following the defeat of the Japanese Navy in the Battle of Midway Island, the U.S. military completely smashed the myth of the invincibility of the Japanese Army. This battle also became a real turning point in the Pacific War, and also won a glimmer of light for China's Anti-Japanese War.

The Battle of Guadalcanal was tragic and unparalleled in the history of American warfare. The tenacious resistance of the Japanese army, cave operations, suicide charges, and the Tokyo Express walking mice all tested the nerve and will of the U.S. Army, and the U.S. finally survived.

Anti-war thinking can choose many battles, such as Dunkirk, North Africa, Market Garden, but I personally feel that choosing this battle is indeed the wrong one.

The Thin Red Line quotes

  • Lt. Col. Gordon Tall: The only time you should start worrying about a soldier is when they stop bitchin'.

  • First Sgt. Edward Welsh: Everything a lie... Everything you hear, everything you see... So much to spew out... They just keep coming, one after another... You're in a box... A moving box... They want you dead, or in their lie. Only one thing a man can do - find something that's his, and make an island for himself. If I never meet you in this life, let me feel the lack; a glance from your eyes, and my life will be yours.
