Synopsis

Corey (Jeremy Renner) is a hunter on the Indian Reservation in Wyoming, USA.

He usually hunts wild animals that could threaten residents and livestock.

One day he found the body of a girl while chasing the cougar .

Corey stepped forward and found that it was his friend's daughter Natalie , and the body had been frozen in this ice and snow.

So he quickly called the police, but only the FBI has the power to enforce the violence in the Indian reservation.

Local police officers can only wait for the FBI to send someone.

The dispatched FBI agent named Jane (Elizabeth Olsen) arrives alone in this remote, cold region.

Because of the unfamiliar place, she hoped that Corey, who found the body, could assist her in the investigation.

In Corey's eyes, Jane was like a helpless little girl, so he agreed.

After investigation, they found that Natalie had a white boyfriend, Matt , and a brother Hansen , who was a drug addict and idle .

Jane was going to find Hansen first to understand the situation, but unexpectedly, danger occurred in the process.

Hansen and his gang were gathering to take drugs, and they started to use their hands because of the arrest.

Fortunately, Corey was agile and quickly subdued Hansen and others, but he didn't seem to know that something happened to his sister.

Through observation, Corey found that there was a trace of a sled outside the house leading into the woods, and that direction was where Natalie was found.

So he and Jane immediately followed the trail to their destination, but on the way they found another body...

Video Analysis

If I put it in the past, I might not choose this movie. At most, I watched it because of Hawkeye and the Scarlet Witch, not the movie itself. It is difficult for a movie that is too quiet to attract most young people, but for some experienced people, For those who have experienced the vicissitudes of life, "Hunting Wind River Valley" must be your dish. It is usually quiet and cold, but it suddenly hits you hard, just like life.

This film reminds me of China's "No Man 's Land ", a remote place will never lack evil , not just because of management difficulties, but more because people lack hope and purpose in life. I don't think the point of this movie is whether the bad guys are punished or not, it's all about drawing public attention to such remote places.

At the beginning of the film, after Corey found the body, the local police could not conduct an investigation. They had to wait until the FBI arrived. At this time, there was a snowstorm, and many clues may have been covered up. And from the subsequent plot, we found that if it wasn't for the help of Corey's hunting skills, it would be impossible to find the truth so quickly, including the process of forensic identification. What the film shows us is that this detection process is simply unreasonable. , and such an unreasonable process will lead to more evil.

The climax of the film is undoubtedly the confrontation between the police and the camp guards. When I saw this, I was really lucky to live in a country that banned guns. What does it feel like when you are surrounded by a group of people with guns? Probably every cold hair is standing up. Because it is the private territory of the reserved area, the local police station has no jurisdiction over it. If something goes wrong here, do you have to wait for the FBI to come from afar to persuade it? This is also obviously unreasonable. So in the face of such an unmanaged remote area, could there be less sin?

What follows is a life without hope and purpose. First of all, it can be seen from the faces of every local resident that they are very unwilling to live such a life. The snow scene is very beautiful, but if a place has only snow scene, it is really too desolate . When Natalie listened to her boyfriend Matt about the outside world, I could see longing and anticipation in her eyes, and for a young man, she certainly didn't want to spend her life in such a lifeless place.

Almost every major character in the film complains about life, with Natalie's father Martin saying to Corey, "I'm tired of fighting with life" and her brother Hansen to Corey, "You think I think This field? Do you know what it feels like?" Corey replied, "I understand, but I just want to control my emotions, because I figured it out, I can't fight the world."

I also want to ask Hansen like Corey, "You can join the army, you can go to school, it's up to you to choose?" But there is a saying why not eat minced meat , sometimes we have not experienced the life of the client, and we cannot give Too many comments, maybe replaced by himself, may degenerate faster than him. There are also those camp guards who can't make excuses for their crimes, but the message that comes out of their mouths is still, "What a life in this icy ghost place."

When people lose hope and purpose in life, they will always do some irrational things . Although there are people who don't work hard and can only blame others, I would rather believe that most people have worked hard and tried to fight with their fate. Struggle, but because of some environmental or external factors failure, and thus lost hope in life. In this movie, the best reflection is Corey. He lives and works very hard every day, but obviously he is also very disappointed in this world. His experience makes him calm and calm, so how many people are there in reality? Can he truly "see through the red dust" like Corey?

No matter how strong the desire to survive, people can't stop the destruction of the living environment. If you can't fight this world, just accept it.
