If you are in middle age and suddenly remember your childhood dreams

I don't remember when I saw the movie, but I saw it on CCTV. It's a middle-aged version of American Dream. When I was young, the male protagonist liked baseball very much. As a pitcher, he was very talented, but because of his father's work , his dream was shattered when he moved to another state before his high school softball game.
The time jumped very quickly. When he was 35 years old, he became a high school teacher, but the school team he led won the championship, and a new scout found the teacher. Dreams and now in his world, constantly rolling.
The few episodes that moved me the most, maybe when I saw it, I was still young, a teenager, and now I'm 24, I didn't realize the touching story.
1. When the teacher thought whether to go to the draft, he ran to the highway and used the ball to test its pitching speed, 78km/h. He was disappointed to see the test card of this highway, but he turned back and drove away from the truck. At that time, because the broken test card was very broken, the real speed dropped to 128km/h, which made me feel sorry for him and sad for him at that time.
2. When he decided to leave his hometown and go to a faraway place for the draft, there was no rice left at home, and his wife and children were starving at home. I felt distressed when I saw it, and in the end, my wife still supported him, which was very touching. When a person reaches middle age, how much responsibility and pressure does he have to understand one of your wives. This life is enough.
3. Another touching point is that when the team he played won the Grand Slam, he once opposed his father, and the white-haired father came to the court, and I saw tears welling up in my eyes. When watching the domestically produced "Sunflower", the painter's son opened an exhibition with his elderly father, and I was also in tears.

This movie is a very typical American Dream movie, a middle-aged inspirational movie, it will not let you down, let you ignite the most desire for your early dreams. When I wrote the film, I left it after watching "Dead Poets Society", and let your heart fly once. (The exact details may be wrong, many years ago)

PS.
The film is based on real events. Jim Morris in his life finally joined the MLB in 1999 at the age of 35 and became the oldest "rookie" in professional baseball history for 30 years. With his unremitting pursuit and hard work, he created a miracle. Morris has now retired from the sports field and wrote his memoir, The Oldest Rookie, based on his legendary experience.

The Rookie quotes

  • Jimmy: [while he and Lorri are lying in bed, their baby crying in the other room] I'll get her.

Lorri: Was that a real, "I'll get her"? Or are you just waiting for me to say, "Go back to sleep"?

    Jimmy: I haven't decided yet.

Lorri: [gently pats him as she gets up] Go back to sleep.

  • Jimmy: Do you know how many guys can throw a ball 98 miles an hour?

    Lorri: [shrugs] Not many?

Jimmy: You can count them with one hand.
