very cool non-mainstream movie

After watching it, I felt that this movie seemed to have nothing to say, and the theme was a little dull. To borrow a sentence, "too bookish", especially when Max was chased by two factions at the end of the film, I thought the climax was coming, and the mystery was about to be revealed. But here, the film ends abruptly with max giving up the brain organization with keen mathematical intuition. Maybe we are too deeply influenced by commercialization, but to be honest, simply discussing the relationship between numbers and the world makes the theme tend to be monotonous, which is also the biggest shortcoming of the film. However, the flaws do not hide the truth. The whole movie has a unique black and white tone, the exciting digital password suspense, and the compact plot unfolding. The whole process is completed in one go. From the viewer's point of view, the compact plot, attractive suspense, and will not bring much burden of watching the movie, it is definitely worth watching. Of course, the premise is that you must like suspenseful movies, and like to use your brain occasionally when watching movies.

DA's debut work, you can clearly see the shadow of Requiem for Dreams, the shooting style of tying the camera to the actor's body and the close-up face, the hand-held shaking lens, the close-up expression of taking medicine, the cat's eye, the anxiety-provoking soundtrack, and the hallucination. ..Unfortunately, this is a test of the water with a cost of only 60,000. The script is too erratic. Although the theme is very clear, it still lacks a clearer and more reasonable idea. Fortunately, Requiem of Dreams makes up for everything, love DA

I remembered that I had seen the word "delusional disorder" in a Japanese manga. I didn't know what it meant at that time, but I thought it was especially suitable for this protagonist. It seems that scientists who have done the previous research in this way will encounter such embarrassment. They have spent their whole lives walking a long way on a lonely road but found that there is a cliff in front of them, or their physical strength has not allowed them to go down. Not getting it is not disappointing, almost getting it and knowing that you will never get it is the most disappointing.

Pi quotes

  • Maximillian Cohen: My new hypothesis: If we're built from Spirals while living in a giant Spiral, then is it possible that everything we put our hands to is infused with the Spiral?

  • Sol Robeson: The Ancient Japanese considered the Go board to be a microcosm of the universe. Although when it is empty it appears to be simple and ordered, in fact, the possibilities of gameplay are endless. They say that no two Go games have ever been alike. Just like snowflakes. So, the Go board actually represents an extremely complex and chaotic universe. And that's the truth of our world, Max. It can't be easily summed up with math. There's no simple pattern.

Maximillian Cohen: But as the game progresses, the possibilities become smaller and smaller. The board does take on order, soon the moves are predictable.

    Sol Robeson: So? So?

Maximillian Cohen: it, there is a pattern, an order underlying every Go game. Maybe that patter is like the pattern in the stock market, the Torah, this 216 number...

Sol Robeson: This is insanity, Max!

Maximillian Cohen: Maybe it's genius! I have to get that number!

Sol Robeson: Hold on! Slow down! You're losing it! You have to take a breathe. Listen to yourself. You're connecting a computer bug with one you might've had and some religious hogwash. If you want the number 216 in the world, you will be able to find it everywhere. 216 steps from your street corner to your front door, 216 seconds you spend riding on the elevator. When your mind becomes obsessed with anything you filter everything else out and find that thing everywhere. 320, 450, 22, whatever. You've chosen 216 and you'll find it everywhere in nature. But, Max, as soon as you discard scientific rigour, you are no longer a mathematician, you're a numerologist.
