1. Why do prisons last so long? Maybe it's because no one alive can come out of the prison . Or maybe the prison uses some kind of mist-like potion to make the prisoners forget what happened in the prison. But I personally prefer the former. (The reason will be explained later)
2. The duration of captivity is most likely determined by the "management" assessment of the prisoner's "survivability" (concurrently with the food preference assessment). Make sure that no prisoner can get out of this prison. This could explain why Trimagasi's time in captivity is higher than that of the male lead. Why every character dies before dawn.

I put forward a conjecture that the change in the number of layers is related to the number of kills (the number of people eaten) by the prisoners. This can explain why the male protagonist and the female protagonist can miraculously ascend to the 6th floor after being assigned to the 202nd floor.

This can also explain why "Bloody Maria" passes by the male protagonist's floor almost every time (there are many murders, and the assigned floor is high)
5. Personally, the purpose of prison is a tool for politicians. Politicians can't solve social problems, so they made this prison instead.
