Stephen King's works are not simply horror novels. He himself said, "I write horror novels, not horror novels." Therefore, his adaptation of the film will not focus on describing horror images such as ghosts, demons, monsters, etc. Instead, it focuses on the spiritual level of people, and this is the most feared existence in his works, because we will never imagine how alienated the human spirit will be under extreme conditions. Therefore, Stephen King's film adaptations usually contain a non-esoteric theme, and the appearance of the works is not complicated. They basically discuss the mental state of modern people. For example, "The Shining" reflects the mental breakdown of people in isolated situations. "Ten Days of Dangerous Love" is a schizophrenic patient who blurs fiction and reality after being isolated from society. "The Mist" shows the extreme spiritualization of people in a state of despair, while in "Carrie the Witch", it is the murder of religion on people's spirits. Alienation, and even lead to irreparable tragedy.
