All the bright places

Love the scenes and soundtrack. And I also can get how talented Elle Fanning is this time. Wish someday I can live in the room like Finch. Two sides are leaning wall, like roofs, where I can stick post-it on. Sometimes we are so weak to detect what are these labels ppl are thinking. They are always or mostly considered as patients or being sick even “freak”. Actually they are not. They just need normal environment and treatment, not the freak or wired names. And it also takes patience and patience time to understand them. And except the final scene the lines on the “Travelers Prayer Chapel”, it's a special surprise for Violet from Finch. Also some enlightenment for us: and as a place for healing, who were taken from us too soon, and who we will always keep in our hearts.

After reading the original book, the original book describes Finch's psychology in more detail, making people fully understand why he chose to commit suicide in the end, but the movie focuses more on V's recovery and the love story between the two, ignoring More profound shaping of the role of Finch.

Getting better and better, the mental health theme still distinguishes it from the common teen romance. I remember a lyric "I don't want to be the sun, I don't want to be brave, I just want to be the light in your heart"

All the Bright Places quotes

  • Theodore Finch: [first lines]

Theodore Finch: What are you doing.

    Violet Markey: [gasp]

Theodore Finch: [recognizing her] Violet Markey?

Violet Markey: Oh my God. Please go.

    Theodore Finch: Well, I don't think that's...

    Violet Markey: Just go!

Theodore Finch: [climbs up onto the bridge railing with her]

Violet Markey: What are you doing?

Theodore Finch: I asked you first.

  • Amanda: I heard you beat the shit out of Roamer. Why do you keep doing stuff like that? Are you tired of people talking about you?

Theodore Finch: People are always gonna talk. It's their specialty.
