This,,, should have killed the DCEU.

Deadpool 2 has an easter egg where Ryan Reynolds is watching the Green Lantern script, fantasizing that he will become a superstar.

In fact, this is true, if this Green Lantern is successful.

In 2011, plus the preparatory work, DC should have noticed the trend of competitors and began to form its own universe. To say that this matter is actually still pitted by the previous failure. Originally, after Batman, Robin and Superman returned, they should have been linked together, but both of them failed. Later Batman prequels have a strong director's personal characteristics, and it is not easy to form a team. So, DC should be pressing the treasure on Green Lantern. If successful, Ryan Reynolds is DC's Robert Downey Jr. Becoming the C position of the DCEU, Big Ben and Henry Cavill can only act as Team America and Thor respectively (forgot the names of the actors).

It's a pity that failure here is no longer acceptable.

So DC slowed down in the body of steel and formed its own universe. Coupled with the gap in the next two years and the misfire of the ace, it is basically impossible to turn over now.

The loss of "Green Lantern" to DC is immeasurable. The two years of missed prime time (plus 14 and 15 are four years), the start of low reputation, the absence of important characters and so on.

But anyway, DC is a comic studio, and the film department depends on its owner Warner, so it deserves to be pitted.

Green Lantern quotes

  • Sinestro: You reek of fear, Hal Jordan. Abin Sur was a great warrior. My mentor. My friend. You insult his memory by wearing his ring.

  • Hal Jordan: I'm done. He's right, I'm only human. We're not ready to defend the universe. Up until a few days ago, we thought we were the only ones IN the universe.

Tomar-Re: The ring chose you. It wouldn't have done so if it hadn't seen something in you.

    Hal Jordan: Oh, yeah?

Tomar-Re: Something you yourself don't yet see. The ring never makes a mistake.

Hal Jordan: This time it did.
