If you shoot according to the plot of the novel, the length of the movie is not enough, at least one season of American drama. In the choice of adaptation, the biggest regret is to abandon the plot of Danny's "Doctor Eternal Sleep". In the novel, because of the identity of "Doctor Eternal Sleep", Danny has a big move until the decisive battle is released, which is very enjoyable. Not in the movie, unfortunately.
Of course, "a movie is a movie, and a novel is a novel", but that makes "Doctor Sleep" awkward as a movie title. Moviegoers who haven't seen the original will feel that the title misses the point, and those who have read the original will feel that the title is not worthy of the title.
Then there's the speculative re-enactment of the Kubrick scene, which is useless to please the audience with a cheap tribute. I guess Danny and his dad didn't want that.
