I was in junior high school 10 years ago. At that time, most of our mobile phones could not access the Internet, and we were not as dependent on the Internet as we are now. So at the time we didn't know much about sex.
In fact, we didn't have sex education classes in the beginning. It was because there was a boy in the class who was addicted to watching h-movies and spread it to other boys to watch it together. He often did some sexual (ah) acts in the class, and was found and punished. The whole class was criticized for temporarily adding sex education classes.
The teacher of the sex education class is probably a female teacher in her 40s who mainly teaches a major subject. My impression is a little vague, but I remember that she talked about some basic knowledge of biology, and everyone listened very seriously. There was also a video with male nudity, the girls were all shy and turned their heads, and the boys were laughing.
What impresses me most is the "popularization" of peer love that this female teacher gave us. At that time, all her ppts selected pictures of gay parades abroad, with exaggerated makeup and clothes, and because it was a parade, there would be some violence. I remember very clearly that there was a boy in the class that I always hated and said that these people have problems. Sadly, the teacher of sex education also said that homosexuality is a disease.
At that time, everyone was only thirteen or fourteen years old, and many people may have learned about homosexuality for the first time from this class. Some people may have no concept of sexual orientation, some people may have learned about their sexual orientation and have self-loathing because of listening to the "teacher", and some people may also have homophobia in this class.
I have to admit that everyone who was ignorant at that time was more or less misled by this so-called teacher of sex education. At this point, I have to thank the Internet. About a year or two later, I often watched movies and American dramas online, and then I gradually learned about sex, love and comradeship. In particular, the show Modern Family shows a very ordinary and warm gay family, and Modern Family made me understand gays more deeply, and can be regarded as my teacher. Now watching Sex Education, I feel the difference even more. (Although there are some exaggerated elements in the play)
After that, I also talked about sex education with my friends. Most of them learned about it from novels, Internet popularization or watching movies. It seems that they have never heard about the so-called sex education class. One can imagine the lack of sex education in China, not to mention the wrong sex education classes with homophobia.
