I recommended a movie to my mother today and watched "The Favourite" again with her.
I watched it a while ago, and I was immersed in the luxurious palace decorations and the beauty of Sister Stone. The starting point when watching the movie was also Abigail, so I had a very simple understanding of the whole film, I only knew that it was about Queen Anne. A palace fight during the reign.
I just realized it after rewatching it today. Queen Anne is the protagonist of the entire film, and Abigail and Mrs Marlborough are just supporting roles. At that time, I regarded the film as the history of Abigail's hairline, and naturally I couldn't understand what the film wanted to express.
Queen Anne's life was very tragic, 17 children died one after another, so she raised 17 rabbits to susten her feelings. Speaking of which, these 17 rabbits can reflect the mental journey of the characters in this film from the side.
When Mrs. Marlborough was favored, she could proudly say to the queen not to hold the rabbit, while Abigail took the initiative to get close to the rabbit in exchange for the queen's favor. After Mrs. Marlborough was over, she didn't dare to reject rabbits arrogantly. At the end of the film, Abigail was arrogant and no longer approached rabbits in order to cater to the queen.
At the end of the film, Queen Anne ordered Abigail to kneel and rub her legs. I think it is the most finishing touch. The Queen used such a subtle action to tell Abigail that no matter who is proud, it is only because of me. Just grace.
In general, I will give this film nine points, because the plot, acting, scenery, lighting settings, etc., are all excellent! !
